Michele Boyd is the program manager of the Strategic Analysis and Institutional Support team at the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO), where she focuses on reducing the soft (non-hardware) costs of solar energy and other barriers to solar deployment. Previously, she worked at Abengoa Solar, where she developed and implemented strategies to advance effective financing, siting, and transmission policies for solar energy. Prior to her work on solar, Michele led public interest advocacy on environmental and policy issues related to nuclear weapons disarmament, nuclear power, and nuclear waste management. Michele has Bachelors of Science degrees in biology and environmental science from Purdue University and a Master of Science in environmental policy from the University of Michigan.
